WPT Opens 20000 Home Game Makeover Contest

The World Poker Tour has introduced Pimp My Home Game, a U.S.-only competition built around private poker hosts rather than tournament players. One eligible host will receive a home-game makeover valued at up to $20,000, with finalists also set to be featured by the WPT.

The contest was announced on September 15, with entries due by September 22, 2026. Entrants must be at least 18 years old and reside in the United States.

What the WPT Is Asking Hosts to Show

Pimp My Home Game centers on the room, table, atmosphere, and story behind a regular private poker game. Applicants must provide a short video that accurately shows their current home-game setup, along with a completed form containing their details.

That video requirement makes the existing environment an important part of the contest. The competition is not simply about what a room could become after an upgrade; it asks hosts to show what their games look like now and why that setting deserves attention.

The format also narrows the focus to individual hosts. Rather than a broad player contest, the initiative is aimed at the people who organize and maintain recurring home games.

Story, Creativity, and Current Setup Lead the Criteria

Entries will be judged on three stated factors: the entrant's story, the creativity of the submission, and the current home-game setup. The members of the judging panel have not been identified.

The criteria place weight on both substance and presentation. A strong submission must explain the background of the game, present the current conditions clearly, and use a creative approach without misrepresenting the setup.

There will be one winner. The makeover carries a maximum stated value of $20,000, though the specific equipment, upgrades, or services included in that value have not been detailed.

A Home-Game Focus From a Global Poker Brand

The World Poker Tour began operating as an international poker tournament series in 2002, while WPT Global launched in April 2022. Pimp My Home Game sits outside the usual tournament-result framework, shifting the focus from final tables and titles to the private spaces where many poker groups regularly play.

For eligible U.S. hosts, the key date is September 22, 2026. Entries must include both the required video and completed form, with judging based on the host's story, creativity, and current home-game setup.
